Visit the picturesque coastal towns of Istria

The western point of Croatia is a fishing village Savudrija which has another specificity, the oldest lighthouse in the Adriatic, which was built in 1818.
Going down towards the south, You will arrive to Umag which is tourist and sports town, in which every year, the famous ATP tournament is held. You won't be left indifferent either with the medieval Novigrad town walls and the bell tower at the parish church in which the (early) Romanesque crypt can be found.

A rich tourist offer can be found in Poreč, which highlight is the Euphrasius basilica who was included by UNESCO among the monuments of world's cultural heritage.
The famous tourist towns at the western coast of Istria are calm Funtana and the fishermen's town Vrsar which will impress you with its narrow streets, churches and stunning views at the coastline.

Visit the town of Rovinj at the west coast of Istria and discover the beauty and romantic atmosphere by sailing on Batana - typical wooden fishing boat with a flat bottom. You will be fascinated by colorful houses, narrow passages, little squares, paved streets leading towards the church of St. Euphemia, saint and patroness of this town.

Barbariga is a famous tourist resort, where in ancient times existed an important oil refinery - refinery for processing olives, and when You arrive to this resort, you'll find out that this area is rich with olive trees.
From a small fishing village Fažana, You can have a nice view at National Park Brijuni which is famous for its school of salting pilchards and fishermen's events. You'll experience fishing tradition at the waterfront in Fažana , where is situated the Church of St. Cosmas and Damian, built at only 1 m altitude - the lowest level in Istria.

At the south of Istria, in three thousand years old town Pula, You can experience a lot of cultural and historical monuments from all historical periods. It's advisable to visit the unforgettable and one of the best preserved Roman amphitheaters, as well as the Forum.

Down south from town of Pula, the picturesque town of Medulin is situated, which is an ideal destination for families because of its long sandy beach and nearby nature Park Kamenjak in Premantura which leaves no one indifferent.

At the eastern coast of Istria is situated town Rabac, a real jewel of nature, with its beautiful bays and a wide range of colors from light green to dark blue, which merges into the sea.

You can start from north to south or from east to west, it does not matter, because every place has its unique beauty and unforgettable experiences and impressions.
