Transadriatica

Transadriatica, the traditional Venetian regatta, will sail again into the port of Novigrad to connect the two shores of the Adriatic.

The start of the enjoyably warm season, the participation of numerous crews (some pursuing sporting ambitions, some more socially oriented), the eye-catching futsal and bocce competitions between the crews and their hosts in Novigrad, all imbued with great hospitality and a sincere welcome from both the local population and the local government, have proved to be a winning combination for the success of this legendary and fascinating regatta connecting the two shores of the Adriatic.

The boats will once again set sail from the Venetian lagoon on 8 June, with the arrival in Novigrad planned for early morning hours of Friday 9 June. As the regatta participants will be staying in Novigrad until Saturday night, their hosts have planned a number of activities to entertain them. The winners of the first race will be awarded a prize on 10 June in Novigrad, while the final award ceremony will be held later in Venice.

All interested Croatian sailors can register to participate in this year's edition of Transadriatica. They will be offered free berthing at a marina close to the very centre of Venice in the week preceding or following the regatta. Please note that sailors from the Croatian side of the Adriatic may only participate in one of the two races: from Venice to Novigrad or from Novigrad to Venice.
