The Valamar Jazz Festival, which is traditionally held in Poreč, begins on Wednesday, 20th of June, at the Lapidarium of the Heritage Museum of Poreč with the performance of Croatian singer Marko Tolja.
In the atrium of the Euphrasian Basilica you can enjoy in the performance by guitarist Ralph Towner (USA).
From Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th of June, the program will will continue at the main venue, the enchanting Island of Sv. Nikola just across the town's waterfront.
On the stage which is situated near the sea, top jazz musicians Enrico Rava (Italy), Joey Calderazzo (USA), Caecilie Norby (Denmark, Sweden), Hugh Masekela (South Africa) and Fred Wesley (USA) will peerform with their bands.
The Festival team has prepared a several extra events.
Street performances of young jazz musicians, jazz photography exhibition, morning jams in local cafés, midnight jam sessions and after-party programs which will guarantee, along with the main programme, a unique jazz experience in Poreč.
