Istria - Clean As Can Be
One of the most successful, traditional ecological activity is called 'No to pollution - Istria'. It was initiated by the Istria Tourist Board in collaboration with tourist offices throughout Istria.
This ecological program begins on the first day of spring and ends on the first day of summer. It covers a whole range of activities whose common objective is to preserve the ecological balance in Istria, especially focusing on the cleanliness of beaches and tourist resorts. Finally, by widely including kindergartens and elementary schools, educating and informing the youngest generation about the importance of preserving and keeping all that has been inherited.
So far the action has covered activities of cleaning illegal waste dumps, learning about the protected landscapes of Istria, endemic species in these areas, arranging access roads to tourist facilities, and all this was accompanied by pupils’ art works on the theme of ecology.
