European Hill Climb Chapionship
AMK Buzet has successfully been organising the international hill climb race "Buzetski Dani" for 27 years, which is an integral part of the city's September celebrations and takes place on the legendary road Most - Penicici. This automobile event has over almost three decades been given many prizes and the number of spectators, over 15 thousand every year, as well as the competitors claim it one of the best sports events of its kind in our country. The truth in this statement is also confirmed by Coatia's President, Mr Stipe Mesic's, high auspice along with the FIA which included the race in the European Hill Climb Championship in 2003.
Last Autumn AMK Buzet hosted European Hill Climb Chapionship prizegiving. The biggest automobile gathering in our country's newest history gathered about two hundred FIA dignitaries, organisers of other European Hill Climb races, awarded drivers and their parties from fourteen European countries. At the prizegiving the President of AMK Buzet, Mr Damir Rupena, was presented with a gold medal for achievements by Mr Paul Gutjahr, FIA Hill Climb Commission President.
This year, too, "Buzetski Dani" is the last, 12th, event of the European Hill Climb Championship held in Spain, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
As in the previous years, the organizer expects over 150 competitors from around 12 European countries. Along with the European Hill Climb and the National Championships, Buzet will, after 10 years, host Slovene Championship and Cup. With the best drivers from Croatia and Europe the event includes Historic Cars which also run in the European Hill Climb Championship.
