Geographic position
Motovun was built on a 277 meter high hill situated in the central part of Istria south above the valley of the River Mirna. The town is some twenty kilometers away from Buje, on one side, and from Buzet, on the other. Its economy is based on agriculture, winegrowing and cattle farming.
