Istria Among the 20 Top Destinations for 2012!
08.11.2011.
Istria was once again a star in the global travel – in its November and December issue, the well-known National Geographic Traveler magazine included Istria on its list of 20 best destinations for 2012.
The Best of the World 2012 list includes cities, countries and natural landmarks which according to the opinion of this famous magazine, deserves the title of the most wanted places on the planet that will inspire the travellers in the incoming year with their treasures and adventures.
According to the NGT writing, Istria should be imagined as Tuscany with Habsburg past. The northernmost Croatian peninsula, they say, is becoming known for truffles, Istrian malvazija wine, olive oils produced at the local farms and the shabby towns on top of the green hills. They are also pointing out the fact that Istria has more than 2000 miles of well-kept bicycle paths and the Adriatic bays which, surrounded by the pine shade, call for sunbathing.
London, Island, Oman, African volcano ridge Virunga and other destinations also made it to the top 20 list.
