Istra Gourmet 2012 on mobile devices

Information regarding the Istrian gourmet offer is spreading to the smartphone – the new application from the Istria Tourist Board for Apple and Android mobile devices enables a simple and efficient search of information concerning restaurants, taverns and tasting rooms for wine and olive oil in Istria.

There are approximately 500 objects on the list which were taken from the gastro Istra Gourmet guide and they are divided into three basic categories; Gourmet guides, Wine Roads and Olive Oil Roads. Along with the name and picture of the object, there is also the object’s address, telephone number, web site, e-mail address, working hours, a list of specialties for restaurants and the position of the object on the map with the distance from the owner of the mobile device, which makes the application very useful and practical.

It is available in Croatian, Italian, English and German, and searching is possible by the name of the object, the location, category, recommendations and quality.

Restaurants, taverns and agritourism can also be found through the following categories: Istrian Quality, Truffles of Istria and Istrian Beef, while the marked objects are also included in internationally popular gastronomic guides such as Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe (JRE) and Gault Millau.

Producers of wine and olive oil can be searched by IQ marks (Istrian Quality, high quality and quality rated wines and olive oils.

This comprehensive application is completely free for its users, and can be downloaded from the Internet or through the attached QR code. We hope that that the new brochure and application will serve as a valuable roadmap through the gastronomic world of Istria.
