Award of the Golden Pen in Istria

At the very beginning of the 20th century, thanks to the inventor Slavoljub Penkala, the fountain pen and the ballpoint pen – revolutionary inventions and contemporary symbols of the profession of journalism, made their way from Croatia and Zagreb into the world which was soon conquered. Now the Golden Pen, the prize for foreign tourism journalists for writing on Croatia, is following the same route. -
Presentation of Istria in Dublin

The presentation “Istria – Green Mediterranean” was held on 14 March 2007 at the Berkeley Court Hotel in Dublin, followed by an Istrian dinner. The presentation was organised by the Istria Tourist Board and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, in co-operation with the Croatian National Tourist Board. Following the introduction of direct flights to Pula, Istria, it is expected that the number of Irish guests to Croatia will increase further. -
New air route

After Ireland’s Ryanair and Scotland’s FlyGlobespan, yet another low-cost company is coming to Istria. The company in question this time is Norwegian low-tariff carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle which will organise flights to Oslo twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. -
Istria in the American review Modern Luxury

An article on Istria by editor Matt Lee was published in the March issue of the review Modern Luxury. In its “Radar” section about the jet set, he writes about the “up-and-coming riviera”, posing the question “Is the Croatian peninsula of Istria the best kept secret in Europe?”

Regular Dublin – Pula air route started
08.02.2007.
Today a new Dublin – Pula air route was opened. The first flight brought 91 Irish tourists to Istria and on its return carried 120 passengers from Istria. Aircraft will fly on the Dublin – Pula – Dublin line three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the same as the line to London.
