The 13th Golden Truffle and the Homage to Istrian Truffle was held in the Kempinski Hotel in Savudrija
From 19 until 21 October Istria hosted a numerous prominent delegation from the Region of Campania at the traditional three-day gourmet festival dedicated to the appreciated white Istrian truffle. All the events were held within the newly built, luxurious Adriatic Kempinski Hotel and its Clubhouse within the Crveni vrh golf resort near Savudrija.
During the first two days of the manifestation we had the opportunity to see the presentation of typical specialties of the Region of Campania at a special party, as well as the Homage to Istrian Truffle, where 6 top chefs from this Italian region performed a gourmet show with the possibilities offered by the top quality white Istrian truffle. We would especially like to point out that the restaurants were these chefs work have a total of 9 Michelin stars (3 restaurants each have two, while the others have one star). On the third day of the manifestation the 13th Golden Truffle was held. This is the festival of the best European restaurants which present their Istrian truffle specialties. Along with the two top Italian restaurants (one with two, the other with one Michelin star), the Basiliek restaurant from Hardewijk (Netherlands, one Michelin star), the Damir i Ornela restaurant from Novigrad (Istria, HR) with an especially attractive presentation of preparing raw fish dishes, presented their delicacies. We would like to mention that this manifestation is exclusively intended for the Croatian and foreign journalists, opinion-makers specialized in eno-gastronomy, as well as editors-in-chief of the gourmet guides from all over Europe. To this effect we would like to emphasize a great response of influential magazines and gourmet guides, moreover, during the three dinner parties of this manifestation in Istria the restaurants with a total of 16 Michelin stars were presented, which says enough about the level and significance of this manifestation for this region and beyond. Therefore we expect numerous elaborate articles which will contribute to the creation of the Istrian truffle brand as well as Istria as a quality gourmet destination.
