• The 13th Golden Truffle and the Homage to Istrian Truffle was held in the Kempinski Hotel in Savudrija

  From 19 until 21 October Istria hosted a numerous prominent delegation from the Region of Campania at the traditional three-day gourmet festival dedicated to the appreciated white Istrian truffle. All the events were held within the newly built, luxurious Adriatic Kempinski Hotel and its Clubhouse within the Crveni vrh golf resort near Savudrija. 

• Participation at the GOOD fair in Udine

  At the invitation of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, the Istrian County was given the opportunity of a free institutional participation at this year's GOOD food fair in Udine. The fair was held from 16 until 18 October 2009.

• Istrian restaurants included into the Wo isst Österreich 2010 gourmet guide

  The first prominent foreign gourmet guide which announced next year's inclusion of the Istrian restaurants is the Austrian Wo isst Österreich. Thus the collaboration of the Istrian County Administrative Department for Tourism with this respectable gourmet guide is being continued.

• Istria in France

  Within the foreseen programme activities, aiming at stronger presentation of Istrian tourism on the French market, last week the Istrian Tourist Board organized the presentation of Istria and its tourist potentials to the Paris audience.

• Italian travel agency Prokulus Reisen has brought its holiday makers to Istria this year, too

  Satisfied with the last year's tour and with the services provided by the accompanying guide, they have organized it this year, too, as a package tour of a prolonged weekend (a four-days stay, a three-days ride).

• A renown Italian journalist, specialized in gastronomy, tourism and modern arts staying in Istria from 4th until 7th September 2009

  Massimiliano Rella, a top-of-the-class freelance journalist who, among other things, collaborates with specialized magazines and guides such as Agrisole, Bell'Europa, Identità Golose, Revue Vinicole, Ristoranti, Pianeta Hotel, Sapori d'Italia, Sole24Ore (Sud, Roma, Centro Nord), Viaggiando, Vigne&Vini, VS and the like.

• Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe Annual Assembly in Madrid from 3th-4th October 2009

  Following a number of meetings which the representatives of the Istrian County Administrative Department for Tourism held with the Presidents of the Italian and Slovenian Branch Offices of Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe, lobbying for the Croatian representatives to be represented in this prestigious organization which promotes young, successful chefs, the main topic of the next year's Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe Annual Assembly will be precisely Istria's joining this association.

• American Bike Agency Sacred Rides frequently in Istria

  Last year's efforts of the Regional Administrative Department for Tourism to find agencies from new emissive markets and to encourage their frequent presence in Istria have given results after only a few months! The Agency Sacred Rides from the US has already booked two several-days arrivals of some groups of riders to Istria - the first group has just left our peninsula and the September term has already been fully booked.

• World famous blogger Carlton Reid visits Istria

  By commitment of the Administrative Department for Tourism of the Istrian County, Carlton Reid, a renowned blogger of a worldwide reputation is going to visit Istria in the period from 17 – 21 July this year.

• Preparations for the new photomonography on the Istrian winemakers ''Istrian Wine Wizards''

  Istrian Development Tourist Agency, IRTA d.o.o., has taken care of all the preparations for the publication of the latest photomonography on the selected Istrian winemakers.

• New edition of the Istra Gourmet 2009 guide

  These days the latest, thirteenth edition of the Istrian Gourmet guide was published containing the best Istrian winemakers, olive growers and caterers.

  The Istrian County Administrative Department for Tourism is responsible for recently published rich photo galleries at the specialized bike and gourmet portals of  Istria, on the topic of the Istrian enogastronomy and cyclotourism.

• A huge interest of renowned gourmet fairs in Istria

  The Istrian County project IQ - Istrian Quality for Istrian Malvasia, conducted by the Istrian Development Agency IDA d.o.o. in collaboration with Vinistra - Association of Winemakers and Winegrowers of Istria, exceeds the borders of Croatia more and more.
