Due to a current situation caused by the COVID 19 pandemic because of which tourism has been put in a stand by and numerous tourist offer, including attractions and accommodation service providers had no visitors, Administrative Department for Tourism of Istria county decided to start the initiative to restart the tourism in Istria.
Since the everyday life slowly goes back to normal and visitors from other parts of Croatia and people from Istria have been travelling all around Istria, with the opening of the state borders the foreign visitors will return and we believe that this initiative will increase the number of visitors and opening of the tourist service providers all around the peninsula.
Over 50 tourist service providers have confirmed their participation in this initiative and they will offer their services with no charge or with 50% discount from 10 am - 6 pm on Saturday, the 13th and Sunday, the 14th.
All those who would like to visit the adrenaline parks, museums, castles, caves, protected areas, theme parks and other attractions and experiences, and wine producers, olive-oil growers, truffle producers and other local producers that have confirmed their participation in this initiative and the local tourist boards are also participating in it with their programmes.
We believe that all the local tourist service providers who are participating in this event and most of those are the family households, small and medium companies, this initiative will help them through this difficult time so they can retain their employees.
Please pay attention to all the hygiene and other preventive measures for tourists, local hosts and accommodation service providers that are recommended by the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia.
All tourist service providers that are participating in this initiative will be available on the website: www.istra.hr/turizam2020
