Exhibition by Marina Rajšić

The exhibition will present the author's concept of the artist Marina Rajšić with an installation made entirely of objects owned by the inhabitants of the Labin region. Items whose use is outdated or inadequate are of sentimental or other importance to the individual.

The role of their meaning is examined by presenting objects as exhibits, questioning their current value and purpose. By transferring them to a new environment devoid of contextualization, placing them as hanging objects in a space wrapped in archival foil and with an added inventory mark, they have been given a new meaning.

Marina Rajšić (1995, Rijeka) is an artist and designer of visual communications. She graduated in Visual Communications and Graphic Design at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka in 2019.

Since 2015, she has been exhibiting individually and collectively. In December 2018, she published an art book called The Art of the Beautiful, for which she was awarded the Rector's Award of the University of Rijeka. She is a finalist of the Radoslav Putar Award 2022, which belongs to the international network YVAA - Young Visual Artists Awards.

In her work, she moves towards conceptual, engaged, new media art. Through her activities in the gallery and public space, she has recently implemented elements of marketing in her works, as a tool for reaching a wider, unconscious and often "non-gallery" audience.

The curator of the exhibition is the art historian and curator of the Labin City Gallery Stephanie Peršić.
