Agrolaguna

Poreč-Parenzo

Details:

Agrolaguna is one of the biggest oil producers in Croatia and also a leader producer of wine and cheese in the area. It was founded in 1953 in the district of Poreč, a popular tourist resort. The olive surface covers 220 hectares with 67,000 trees. In the last harvest 15,000 quintals of olives were produced, equal to a yield of almost 1,638 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil.

There are two Extra Virgin selections OL Istria, Picholine and Selekcija, the later chosen by the Flos Olei panel. Selekcija has an intense limpid golden yellow colour with slight green hues. Its aroma is fine and delicate, with fruity notes of unripe tomato, white apple and banana, together with fragrant hints of basil, mint and parsley. Its taste is fine and vegetal, with a flavour of chicory, lettuce and celery. Bitterness and pungency are present and well balanced, with a sweet finish.
