The Čeko farm was created over twenty years ago - it was founded in 2000 in Umag, one of the most charming seaside resorts in Istria. Today Filip Čeko runs an estate stretching over almost 6 hectares of specialized olive grove with 1,523 trees. In the last harvest 166 quintals of olives were produced, with a yield of about 20 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil.
The Flos Olei guide recommends the very good Monocultivar Extra Virgin selection Sapparis - Črnica, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with delicate green hues. Its aroma is ample and rotund, rich in vegetal hints of artichoke, country lettuce and chicory, together with fragrant notes of mint and rosemary. Its taste is elegant and complex, with a spicy flavour of black pepper and a strong final note of almond. Bitterness is definite and pungency is distinct and harmonic.
