Olivegrovers

Monte Rosso

Savudrija-Salvore

Details:

Monte Rosso was founded in 2009 by Davor Dubokovič in the favourable district of Umag. The estate consists of a larger area, 40 hectares of which are destined to specialized olive grove with 14,000, not entirely productive, trees. In the last harvest 1,400 quintals of olives were produced, equal to a yield of 125 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil.

There are two excellent Extra Virgin selections Monte Rosso, Grand Selection and Grand Selection Platinum, recommended by the Flos Olei guide. It is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with strong green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, rich in vegetal hints of artichoke and wild chicory, together with fresh fragrant notes of mint and rosemary. Its taste is exuberant and robust, with a flavour of lettuce and a final note of black pepper and almond. Bitterness is powerful and pungency is distinct and well balanced.
