Dvigrad Festival
In the early Middle Ages two towns existed here, of which only one, Dvigrad-Duecastelli, was populated throughout the entire medieval period, until the 17th century. Its exciting history started with a Roman settlement and continued with various owners in the middle ages. In the middle of the 17th century Istria was hit by black plague and malaria so the last three families left Dvigrad in 1714. The town with two rings of walls, several ramparts and remains of the early Christian church of St Sophia will be, just for short, awaken again with sounds of this early music festival.
