3. Istrian Garlic Festival
On Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14, 2022, Trg Slobode in Poreč will host the third edition of the Istrian Garlic Festival.
The festival opens on Saturday at 10 a.m., when nine family farms will present their products at the stands (OPG Calabura from Vizintin near Oprtalj, OPG Krizmanic from Ježenj near Pazin, OPG Dario Antonac from Oprtalj, OPG Vilim Jaksa from Borut, OPG MonteIstra from St. Juraj near Grožnjan, OPG Pamic Nefat from Pazin, OPG Celic from Krbun near Pican, OPG Paolo Sirotic from Pazin and OPG Sara Simonovic from Vizinada).
After the opening, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., the IQ (Istrian Quality) label for exceptional garlic quality will be awarded to 7 producers for 10 products - 7 for Istrian red garlic, 2 for Istrian pink garlic and one for Istrian purple garlic.
All those interested will be able to buy real local Istrian garlic braids at the stands, as well as various garlic products such as garlic spread, pickled garlic scapes and garlic scapes sauce.
On both days, the association will have its own info point where producers will give advice on the cultivation, production and storage of garlic.
The festival lasts from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Trg Slobode in Poreč.
