Beginning with 2010 the Istrian restaurants which  were included into prestigious association Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe last year, have now been officially promoted as the members of the large family of young European chefs at their official web site www.jre.eu/hr.

The JRE association includes 350 caterers from ten countries and promotes tradition as well as young chefs’ creativity and innovation. The Istrian restaurants included in the association are San Rocco from Brtonigla, Damir & Ornela and Pepenero from Novigrad. Next year these three restaurants headed by Teo Fernetich from San Rocco, who was nominated for that position by the JRE Assembly, will jointly attend seminars and workshops and collaborate with other member restaurants from other countries.

They will be included into the national JRE branches as well. Since such a branch hasn't been founded in Croatia yet, which is one of the ways of becoming a member of this association, the Istrian restaurants became individual members of the international JRE. However, they plan to found the Croatian branch until 2011 and include the restaurants from the rest of the country.
