Buje-Buie

Details:

This farm has been present in numerous editions of the Flos Olei guide, constantly improving its level. Giancarlo Zigante, well-known since 1999, when he found in Buje the biggest white truffle in the world (1.31 kg), included in the Guinness Book of Records, has been picking and marketing truffles for years. Moreoever, he is a renowned restaurateur and olive oil producer. He runs 7 hectares of olive grove with 1,400 trees, which produced 230 quintals of olives in the last harvest, equal to about 25 hectolitres of oil.

The very good Monocultivar Extra Virgin Zigante - Buža is an intense limpid golden yellow colour with slight green hues. Its aroma is ample and rotund, rich in fruity hints of unripe tomato, white apple and banana, together with fresh notes of basil, mint and parsley. Its taste is complex and vegetal, with a flavour of broad beans, lettuce and celery. Bitterness is definite and pungency is distinct and harmonic.
