Kmet Flavio

Umag-Umago

Details:

Another good result for Kmet in Umag, which excels even in a high quality area. Active for few years - it was founded in 2000 - the farm is run by Flavio Kmet in the charming horseshoe-shaped lagoon in the north of the Istrian peninsula. The estate consists of over 3 hectares of specialized olive grove with 1,100 trees. In the last harvest 150 quintals of olives were produced, equal to 22 hectolitres of oil. We recommend the selection proposed by the farm, the Extra Virgin Bosco Grande from Organic Farming, which is an intense limpid golden yellow colour with light green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, rich in notes of artichoke, lettuce and wild chicory, together with fruity hints of unripe tomato. Its taste is elegant and complex, with hints of officinal herbs, especially mint and basil, and a distinct note of almond. Bitterness is strong and pungency is distinct. It would be ideal on lentil appetizers, octopus carpaccio, tuna salads, grilled radicchio, porcini mushroom purée, pasta with artichokes, blue fish au gratin, roast poultry or lamb, hard mature cheese.

Number of trees: 1100
