Cattunar

Brtonigla-Verteneglio

The Cattunar winery from Nova Vas near Brtonigla with 50 hectares of vineyards is the largest private winery in the Croatian part of Istria. Back in the mid-1980s, Franco Cattunar, as a true visionary, started building a winery that is today one of the most prestigious in Croatia. Franco and his wife Vesna have built a modern winery, along with a charming luxury wine hotel, so the entire property surrounded by vineyards and overlooking the sea, represents a unique product and is reminiscent of the best Tuscan tenute. The Cattunar winery is unique in that it grows grapes on all four types of soil found in Istria - white, red, black and grey. Their Malvazija 4 terre project is unique in the Mediterranean. They are present on the market with wines from four lines, and in addition to autochthonous grape varieties, Istrian malvasia, teran and muškat ruža porečki, they also grow a top international assortment of chardonnay, white sauvignon, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Of particular note are the aged wines from the Limited edition series, which have won numerous international awards to date.
