Forest and Wild Foods Festival

The woodland around Brest pod Žbevnicom in northern Istria comes alive with the Forest and Wild Foods Festival! Set in the heart of the unspoilt Ćićarija landscape, this October event brings together nature lovers of all ages for a programme packed with workshops and talks, outdoor activities, art, and entertainment for both children and adults.

It is a wonderful opportunity to discover the secrets of the forest through educational activities, gastronomy and time spent in nature, while learning about wild plants, mushrooms and other forest treasures in the beautiful surroundings of Ćićarija.

Surrounded by nature and offering plenty of opportunities to learn, explore and enjoy, the festival also serves up authentic flavours. Sample traditional Istrian dishes prepared according to local recipes, a selection of vegetarian and vegan specialities, and the ever-popular mushroom stew cooked in a traditional cauldron. A true festival favourite, it brings together the flavours of the forest and the region’s culinary traditions at one of Istria’s most appealing autumn events.
