Fiorenza Calogero is a renowned Neapolitan singer and actress. Alongside her intense theatrical activity, she has a brilliant musical career as a soloist. She is currently considered by critics to be one of the finest interpreters of Neapolitan song, from the “villanella” to contemporary authors. In 2001, she won the Saint Vincent Award for Best Performer with the song “Indifferentemente,” the only Neapolitan song in the competition. In 2007, she was invited to represent Neapolitan music at the Columbus Day in New York, and in 2008 Pietro Gargano dedicated two pages to her in the encyclopedia of classical Neapolitan song. In 2009, John Turturro cast her in the film Passione, where she performs “Il canto delle lavandaie del Vomero,” the oldest song in the Neapolitan tradition. National Premiere.

It was founded in 1990 in Vodnjan, a small town in Istria, and is one of the most significant representatives of the so-called ČA-wave scene—a type of pop-rock music with lyrics sung in the Čakavian dialect—which brought the band great popularity in Croatia during the mid-1990s.
