Istria achieved huge success at this year's Merano Wine Festival that took place in the fairy-tale South Tyrolean town of Merano. It is actually one of the most exclusive events dedicated to the wine industry and culinary excellence in this part of Europe.

The 26^th edition that lasted for five days, from the 10^th until the 14^th November, was host to over 450 wineries from Italy and throughout the world, at which 200 “masters of taste” and 15 renowned chefs also took part, whilst the event was attended by an incredible 10,000 visitors.

In this way, Istria had the exceptional opportunity of representing its gourmet offer through 22 companies from wineries and the extra virgin olive oil and beer sectors within the historical building of the Kurhaus where the most important events of the Festival take place.

Istrian exhibitors attracted a large audience of gourmet aficionados and operators from the sector and gastronomy enthusiasts who had the opportunity of becoming acquainted with the best of Istrian produce. Participation in such a respectable event is of particular importance for Istria and this is why the Istria Tourist Board took over the organisation of participation in this important international exhibition.
