Anja Mutić Rewarded for Her Text on Istrian Truffles

Anja Mutić, a writer from Zagreb living in NYC, whose contribution in the form of texts and photographs resulted in inclusion of Istria in the famous Lonely Planet's list of the most wanted world destinations, recently received a significant professional award.

Anja Mutić, a writer from Zagreb living in NYC, whose contribution in the form of texts and photographs resulted in inclusion of Istria in the famous Lonely Planet's list of the most wanted world destinations, recently received a significant professional award.

In late October, this travel journalist and a world famous travel writer, obtained the prestigious award Međunarodnog udruženja pisaca o hrani, vinu i putovanjima, IFWTWA, thanks to her extraordinary text about Istrian truffles.

In the awarded piece of writing named Falling in Love with Truffles on Croatia's Istrian Peninsula, the author gives a lively account of the Istrian landscape and features truffles as a regional culinary treasure through many various characters, from suppliers to the chef.

Anja Mutić has already made a significant contribution to the tourist promotion of Istria. Her best known articles include the one about Istria as world's finding site for truffles, published in Wine Enthusiast Magazine and The Washington Post in 2010 and the article named Istria: The Heart of Croatia, published at the web pages of Lonely Planet, where she pointed out the natural beauty and harmony of the rural tourism in Istria.

For her promotion of Istria and its treasures, Mutić was awarded the Zlatna koza - Golden Goat annual award in 2010 by the Istrian Tourist Board.
