Individuals are awarded the Zlatna koza-Capra d'oro, a main annual prize in the form of a goat sculpture with an additional cash prize of HRK 10.000, while projects, products or activities are awarded the Zlatna koza-Capra d'oro Plaque with an additional cash prize of HRK 4.000 in four categories: Events, Visual Communications, Tourist Product and Innovative Product.

A total of 29 nominations were submitted following the public invitation announced by the Istria Tourist Board on September 27 on the occasion of marking the World Tourism Day for nominating works to receive the 2013 award. Six in the Events category, six in the Innovative Product category, seven in the Tourist Product category and six in the Visual Communication category. There were also four nominations submitted for awarding an individual for his/her exceptional contribution to the tourist promotion of Istria.

The main prize, a sculpture made for this occasion, was awarded to Ivan Jakovčić, a person responsible for the current image of Istria, development of wine and olive production. He has also played a large role in popularizing Istria's hinterland as well as setting golf and cultural tourism foundations. Everything he started has reached a current high level of development. An exception was made this year by awarding two main prizes. The second one was awarded to dr. Wolfgang Neuhuber for his promotion of Istria on German speaking area thus significantly contributing to the promotion of Istria as an editor and a journalist.

Plaques were awarded to the cluster of Umag-Novigrad Tourist Board for a series of gastronomic events taking place for a number of years with a goal of promoting food typical for the area including the plaice fish, squid and asparagus.

In the Innovative Product category, the plaque was awarded to the Archaeological Museum of Istria, Pula Tourist Board and the Public Institution Pula Sport for the Spectacula Antiqua project which had briefly revived ancient gladiator fights and introduced spectators to the history of Roman Pula.

Karlić truffles were also awarded the Zlatna koza-Capra d'oro Plaque in the Tourist Product category. Exceptionally popular truffle hunting, the possibility of truffle tasting and purchase as well as a warm welcome by the Karlić family contributed to this success.

The last prize was awarded in the Visual Communication category to the Tourist Board and the Municipality of Bale for the Ulika Multimedia Centre. This Centre provides the possibility of visiting two permanent exhibitions accompanied by high-tech equipment, which as a novelty in the area also provides an additional dimension to the exhibition.
