Children's book festival

Monte Librić brings more than 70 festival programmes and workshops to Pula, where the youngest visitors can play, learn and create throughout the day through storytelling, literature, film, visual arts and music. The Monte Librić stage will host theatre performances and concerts, while children can also enjoy daily screenings of animated films and, of course, bedtime stories.

At this children’s book festival, authors from Croatia and abroad meet their youngest readers at the morning Picnic with the Author. The programme also includes numerous creative workshops led by writers, illustrators, muralists, graffiti artists and comic-book creators. Librić continually strives to remain fresh and original for its young audience, and in its inspiring atmosphere the festival aims to bring children even closer to reading and books.

Program 2026: Florastic
The 19th Monte Librić Thinks Green
Plants take centre stage at the 19th Children’s Book Festival! On the terrace of Circolo, the Florastic Garden will come to life - an ambient installation made up of a variety of large and small plants, while the Cabinet of Florastic Wonders will also open its doors. Among many activities, children will tend a real vegetable garden, sow and plant seeds, and create a Library of Scents, an Imaginary Herbarium, an Insect Hotel, and much more.

A wide range of Librić programmes designed to encourage reading have also been prepared, as the aim of Monte Librić has always remained the same: to help children become first young readers and later lifelong bookworms. All of this takes place in an inspiring setting surrounded by a rich selection of books for young readers, available to purchase at special prices.
