Mediterranean Cup in majorette sports
The start of autumn in Novigrad will be marked by the 10th Mediterranean Cup in Majorette Sport on October 10 and 112.
Novigrad will host, for the fourth time, an international competition of talented girls of various ages who will impress the audience not only with the competitive program in the Sports Hall but also with a Saturday parade through the streets of the old town center at 6:30 PM and a dance show on the Great Square behind the bell tower at 6:50 PM.
Around 750 majorettes from eight countries, accompanied by their coaches, teams and parents, are expected to descend on Novigrad. The majorettes will compete in three age groups - cadets, juniors, and seniors - in categories such as solo, duo/trio, mini, and large formations, as well as parades. In their performances, they will use props like batons, pom-poms, baton flags, flags, and even two to three different props and stage sets in their dances. They will perform around 200 choreographies, with up to 100 performances each day of the competition under the auspices of the City of Novigrad - Cittanova.
A highlight of the weekend will be the traditional majorette dance competition, where the best team will be awarded the coveted Novigrad Cup 2026. This special contest takes place on Saturday morning, 10 October, with prizes for the most outstanding parade and large baton formations to be presented personally by Mayor Anteo Milos.
The organizers of this sporting event are the Croatian Majorette Association (HUMT) and the European Majorette Association (EMTA), under the auspices of the City of Novigrad - Cittanova.
