Sete Sois Sete Luas Festival

In July Rovinj will host the Mediterranean Folk Music Festival Sete Sòis Sete Luas (Seven Suns, Seven Moons). The festival has its official seat in Lisbon (Portugal) and Pontedera (Italy). It is promoted by the Culture Network in 30 cities, in 10 different countries of the Mediterranean and Portuguese-speaking countries: Brazil, Cabo Verde, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, and in the past several years, in Croatia and Rovinj. The festival is a project of folk music, street theatre performances and visual arts, gathering prominent artists of the Mediterranean culture.

MARIO INCUDINE (Sicily, Italy) Singer-songwriter, actor, director, musician and author of soundtracks, Mario Incudine is one of the most representative figures of the new Italian world music. With his band he has been the protagonist of numerous world music festivals in Italy, Europe and Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mexico, Turkey, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Canada, China and the United States. He collaborates regularly with Moni Ovadia, Peppe Servillo, Eugenio Bennato, Ambrogio Sparagna, Lucilla Galeazzi, Nino Frassica, Mario Venuti, Tosca, Antonella Ruggiero and Kaballà. He has duetted with artists such as Francesco De Gregori, Lucio Dalla, Alessandro Haber and Francesco Di Giacomo (Banco del Mutuo Soccorso). He is currently the artistic director of the Casalaina theater in Novara di Sicilia (Messina) and of the Sala Sciascia in Chiaramonte Gulfi (Ragusa). As a singer and musician he is a permanent member of the Orchestra Popolare Italiana of the Auditorium of the Parco della Musica in Rome directed by Ambrogio Sparagna.

GERMÀ NEGRE (Catalonia, Spain) is a Catalan music group founded in 2012. Their style is mainly folk. Musicians coming from very different styles and musical genres (classical, punk, rock, etc.) released their first album in 2015 and the second in 2018. In the repertoire of GERMÀ NEGRE, a lover of Catalan folklore, you will find all kinds of adaptations of traditional and popular music of Catalonia, full of explosive arrangements, which make their concerts a real party where it is impossible not to dance.

GUSTAFI (Istria, Croatia) are known for its electric style that combines Istrian folk music and rock, with the influence of blues. The band was founded in 1990 in Vodnjan, a small Istrian town, and is one of the most significant examples of the so-called ČA-val (Cha Wave), a type of pop-rock music accompanied by lyrics sung in the Chakavian dialect of Istria, thanks to which the band became very popular in Croatia in the mid-1990s.
