Astro night programmes @ Višnjan Observatory

The Višnjan Observatory can be visited throughout the year. Dates and times of our astrotourism programs in the following period:

AUGUST 2023:
Astro Night program in English will be held on Friday, 25th of August from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Astro Night program in Croatian will be held on Saturday, 26th of August from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The program consists of lectures on some astronomy topics and the area of operation of the Observatory, a tour of the Observatory, and the dome where the main telescope is operating for asteroid detection and tracking. If the weather permits, visible celestial bodies can be observed with an amateur telescope on the meadow in front of the observatory. This part of the program is followed by a laser guided tour through the constellations in the night sky. The program (lecture and guided tour of the Observatory) will take place even in case of cloud cover and/or rain.

The main telescope in the Observatory is used for research purposes only.

The entrance fee is 12,00 EUR per person, 6,00 EUR for children aged 6-12, and admission is free for children up to 6 years old. Payment can be made at the Observatory before the start of the program.
