Exhibition: 50 for 50
From humble beginnings in 1975, when the first exhibitors presented their work at an exhibition of amateur painters from the Pazin area, a remarkable story began to unfold — one woven with enthusiasm, creative passion, and perseverance.
Through decades of exhibitions, space-making, and identity-building amidst various challenges, the Visual Artists’ Association fought to claim its own space — physical, social, and spiritual. In doing so, it established a distinctive and enduring presence in the cultural life of Pazin and the broader area of Central Istria.
The 50 x 50 exhibition offers a compelling retrospective, highlighting key moments from a five-decade journey — from 1975 to 2025 — through a thoughtfully curated selection of artworks. Featuring a wide range of techniques, materials, styles, and forms, these pieces collectively capture the evolving identity and creative spirit of the Association.
Each exhibition along the way marked a step forward — enhancing visibility and strengthening the community of members. Over time, the gallery on Trg Male Fontane square has grown into the vibrant heart of Pazin’s visual arts scene. Today, it is recognized as a welcoming hub and meeting point for art enthusiasts, both local and international.
The exhibition stands as a reminder of the importance of collective effort — and of art’s ability to connect, transform, and inspire us toward the future. The story of the Visual Artists’ Association is not merely one of art, but of people who, despite every challenge, remained steadfast in their belief in creativity and in the power of culture as a bridge between the community and the creators shaping the spirit of Pazin and its surrounding area.
The exhibition is open to visitors during the Pazin City Museum's regular hours,
Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
