Balkan Endurance Riding Championship
Croatia Welcomes the Balkan Endurance Riding Championship
Barban has been honoured with the privilege of hosting the Balkan Endurance Riding Championship, organized by the Croatian Equestrian Federation and the Istria Equestrian Club, under the authority of the European Equestrian Federation - Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI).
This prestigious international event, one of the oldest equestrian championships in the world, will gather around thirty equestrian teams in Istria. Strength, stamina, and the unique bond between rider and horse will decide who will be crowned Balkan Champion in 2025.
Competitors will face a demanding 107-kilometer course stretching across the Barban area - from trails along the sea to the stunning Raša Bay, through forests, and as far as Žminj. Notably, Barban hosted Croatia’s first endurance riding competition in 2006, marking the beginning of the sport’s growth in the country.
The championship in Barban promises excitement not only for riders but also for visitors. A vibrant program of accompanying events will enrich the experience with authentic gastronomic delights, a local products fair, fun activities for children, and plenty of entertainment for all.
