WRC Croatia Rally

The world’s best drivers, teams, and car manufacturers gather in Croatia for one of the most prestigious motorsport events in the world – the WRC Croatia Rally. It is an asphalt rally that has been held in Croatia since 2021, with the exception of 2025, when the country hosted the European Rally Championship.

The World Rally Championship is among the most watched sporting events globally, ranking in the world’s top 20, and the Croatian rally is one of only 14 rounds on the season calendar. Its special stages run through demanding and visually striking routes that connect the coast, hinterland, and mountainous regions, showcasing the diversity of Croatia’s landscapes and enhancing the overall appeal of the competition.

The WRC Croatia Rally traditionally attracts between 60 and 80 crews, including all leading factory teams: Toyota Gazoo Racing, Hyundai Motorsport, and M-Sport Ford. The event is contested across several categories, including Rally1, Rally2, Rally3, and the FIA Junior WRC. The start list is expected to feature reigning world champions, the biggest names in international rallying, as well as the top Croatian crews.

The first four editions of the rally were held in Zagreb and the surrounding regions. In 2026, the Croatia Rally moves from continental Croatia toward the west of the country and the Adriatic coast, combining elite motorsport with coastal scenery and a mountainous hinterland. The Kvarner region plays a central organizational and logistical role, while the rally passes through several Croatian regions, with a strong focus on the coastal and mountainous landscapes of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Karlovac, and Lika-Senj counties, as well as the Region of Istria.

The WRC Croatia Rally spectacle lasts four days, beginning with a shakedown as a test run before the official start of the event. The service park, serving as the central hub for technical support and vehicle maintenance, will be located at Grobnik. The ceremonial start will take place in Rijeka, while the finish and winner’s ceremony will be held in Opatija. The competitive programme consists of 20 special stages spread over three days.

By hosting the event across Kvarner, Lika, and the Istrian peninsula, the WRC Croatia Rally gains an especially attractive new dimension and further confirms its status as one of the most significant sporting events in Croatia.
