On Friday, 10 July 2026, the Poreč Public Open University will open two major exhibitions marking the highlight of this year's visual arts season. The programme begins at 8:00 p.m. at the Zuccato Gallery with the opening of a solo exhibition by Italian artist Enzo Cacciola, and continues at 9:00 p.m. at the Istrian Assembly Hall with the opening of the 66th Annale, titled "(In)Stability of the Horizon", curated by Vanja Babić.
For more than six decades, the Annale has been one of Croatia's most important meeting points for contemporary art. Since its establishment in the early 1960s, it has continuously followed the development of the Croatian and international art scene, providing a platform for different generations of artists, new artistic practices, and current social issues. Throughout its rich history, the Annale has evolved into a distinctive platform for artistic dialogue, firmly positioning Poreč on Croatia's cultural map.
This year's edition brings together fifteen distinguished artists of different generations and artistic approaches: Heiko Daxl and Ingeborg Fülepp, Sandro Đukić, Amela Frankl, Paulina Jazvić, Daria Jelinčić, Igor Juran, Željko Kipke, Davor Mezak, Bane Milenković, Zoltan Novak, Renata Poljak, Ivan Posavec, Josip Vaništa, Mirjana Vodopija, and Vlado Zrnić. Through painting, photography, video, installation, and intermedia artistic practices, the artists explore the concept of the horizon as a physical, perceptual, and symbolic boundary of our view of the world.
The 66th Annale will remain open at the Istrian Assembly Hall until 15 September 2026. The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
