Selected from Archaeological Localities of the Rovinj Region

An exhibition featuring a total of ten completely different archaeological objects – one from each major archaeological site in the Rovinj area. All of them, except one, are part of the Museum’s Archaeological Collection, while one object has been loaned for the exhibition from the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula. The exhibited finds cover a time span from prehistory to the early modern period, and most of them entered the Museum as a result of archaeological research.

The exhibition offers insight into a part of the Museum’s Archaeological Collection through selected objects which, by their characteristics and purpose, speak about the people who used them, their tastes and everyday life, their beliefs, and the contacts they maintained.

Through ten selected objects, the area of Rovinj is presented, introducing the historical and cultural development of the wider city area.
