Koki's 70th Birthday
Surely the most famous resident of Brijuni National Park, Koki, is celebrating his 70th birthday! This great sulphur-crested cockatoo, fondly remembered by generations of visitors, was born in 1956.
For decades, Koki has been one of the symbols of Brijuni. Known for his intelligence, ability to speak, and playful interaction with visitors, he has become an unforgettable part of the experience of visiting the Istrian national park. Guests can often hear him say “How are you?” or repeat his name “Koki, Koki,” while his imitations of laughter and whistling never fail to delight.
In his honour, Brijuni National Park is hosting a joyful celebration featuring a special programme to mark International Parrot Day.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Koki through guided tours of the Safari Park and pheasantry, where they can learn more about his remarkable story and long life on Brijuni. As part of the programme, guests can also enjoy the children’s art exhibition Koki Through the Eyes of Children.
Ticket sales begin on 29 May at 10:00 a.m.
