Concert: Klapa Iskon

Klapa Iskon was founded in 2000 and, throughout its long-standing career, has achieved numerous notable successes at festivals and various music events across Croatia. The group has collaborated on regional tours with acclaimed musicians such as Gibonni, Neno Belan, Tedi Spalato, Luky, and TBF, successfully completed its own tours in Israel and France, and performed concerts in Los Angeles, Vienna, Berlin, and Stockholm.

Klapa Iskon is widely recognized for the diversity of its performances, ranging from traditional Dalmatian vocal expression to contemporary musical genres. Its mission is to promote cultural heritage while preserving the authenticity of klapa singing and protecting it from commercial distortion. A Klapa Iskon concert is a musical journey through Dalmatia, a story of its recent musical past and a reflection of its musical present. The story of the evolution of multipart singing over recent decades focuses on the unique characteristics of the Dalmatian region, encompassing the poetic and compositional heritage of coastal towns, islands, and the hinterland.

Klapa Iskon travels through Arsen's Šibenik and the Vrgorac of Tin Ujević, through Runjić's Split and the Komiža of Jakša Fiamengo, leading audiences from “Konoba” and “The Blue Sea Routes” to “Bokeljska Noć”, before returning to its own songs – the “Iskon” of the 21st century.

Today, Klapa Iskon is a five-member vocal ensemble whose members have experience in nearly all relevant musical genres—from classical music and jazz to pop and rock ’n’ roll. This allows them to present the tradition they cherish in a way that resonates with contemporary audiences and remains in step with the times.

Klapa Iskon consists of:
Vedran Harašić – first tenor
Ivan Žanić – second tenor
Alen Babić – baritone
Zvonimir Kovačić – bass-baritone
Ante Blažević – bass
