Exhibition: Andi Bančić
The exhibition “Pogledi” (Views) by Andi Bančić will open at the Small Gallery of the Open University of Poreč on 3 September 2026 at 8:30 p.m.
The exhibition presents a selection from a series of photographs taken by the artist over the years at the Montraker quarry during the International Student Sculpture School.
Speaking about the exhibition, curator Dr Ivona says: “The exhibition Pogledi seeks to present Andi’s views through the camera, directed and focused on Montraker and the distinctive features of this long-standing school of stone sculpture. Andi’s gaze at people engaged in conversation and laughter; the gazes of others captured in portraits; Andi’s focus on people in motion during the annual closing of the school, the expressions on their faces, the playing of a guitar – all framed by the stone reality of the quarry; the gaze with which he carefully selected the daylight; the frame of a sculpture with the sculptor inside it; stone dust in the sunlight; the view from the highest part of Montraker overlooking the quarry, the islands and the sea; and one erotic gaze…”
The exhibition will be open from 3 September to 9 October and can be visited every day except Sundays and public holidays, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
