The Franković-Vlačić Palace


The Franković-Vlačić Palace in Labin is a birthplace of Matija Vlačić Ilirik, a leader of European thinking in the 16th century. A versatile philologist, theologist, historian and scientist, one of the most prominent supporters of the Protestant reform in Istria. His Memorial Collection is kept in the Baroque palace. The collection consists of three parts. Its introduction deals with the region i.e. Istria and Labin, the second part is dedicated to towns and figures from the life of the Illyrians, while the third part exhibits his books.
