Olive oil producers

Benvegnu Oriano

Buje-Buie

Details:

A brilliant performance for the farm Benvegnu in Krasica, in the district of Buje. It was founded in 2006 by Remiggio Benvegnu and is a small estate with about 6 hectares of olive grove and 1,000 trees of typical varieties. In the last harvest 60 quintals of olives were produced and 20 purchased, with a yield of 18 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil. Together with 5 quintals purchased, the total was 23 hectolitres. Once again our panel recommends the Extra Virgin Benvegnu, which is an intense limpid golden yellow colour. Its aroma is ample and harmonic, endowed with vegetal notes of chicory, celery and lettuce, together with strong aromatic hints of basil and parsley. Its taste is full and elegant, with a flavour of broad beans, artichoke and a fruity note of unripe tomato, banana and white apple. Bitterness and pungency are present and balanced. It would be ideal on artichoke appetizers, bruschette with vegetables, salmon carpaccio, boiled legumes, barley soups, pasta with mussels, stewed shrimps, grilled cuttlefish, baked poultry or lamb, goat cheese.

Number of trees: 450
