Olive oil producers

Coop

Poreč-Parenzo

Details:

Another brilliant result for Coop Poreč, a young oil farm run by Branko, Dean and Slavica Ivancić, with Irena Arvaj, in one of the most beautiful and popular centres of the Istrian peninsula. Since 2006 the three brothers have been running a 4-hectare specialized olive grove with 1,000 young trees. In the last harvest 20 quintals of olives were produced, with a yield of about 2 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil. We recommend the selection proposed to our panel, the Extra Virgin Selina, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with warm green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, rich in fragrant hints of basil, mint and rosemary, together with elegant notes of freshly mown grass, black pepper and almond. Its taste is complex and vegetal, with a flavour of artichoke, wild thistle, chicory and lettuce. Bitterness and pungency are present and distinct. It would be ideal on bruschette with vegetables, boiled beans, barley salads, tomatoes stuffed with rice, asparagus purée, pasta with chanterelle mushrooms, pan-seared turbot, amberjack tartare, baked poultry or lamb, goat cheese.
