A high class debut for Bruno Flego\'s farm, which has proposed two excellent products to our panel. Flego has been running this estate situated in the territory of Pazin since 2004. It consists of a specialized olive surface of 8 hectares with 2,500 trees of a wide range of varieties. In the last harvest 250 quintals of olives were produced, with a yield of almost 31 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil. There are two farm selections, the Extra Virgin Flego, Ascolana and the excellent Buža, which we recommend. It is an intense limpid golden yellow colour with delicate green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, rich in fruity hints of white apple and banana, together with intense fragrant notes of basil, field balm and parsley. Its taste is complex and strong, with a vegetal flavour of lettuce, celery and broad beans. Bitterness is strong and pungency is distinct. It would be ideal on bruschette with tomatoes, beef carpaccio with ovoli mushrooms, marinated bluefish, bean soups, pasta with sausages, boiled octopus, barbecued red meat or game, hard mature cheese.
