Present again in our Guide with a result showing its great progress, the farm owned by Franko Grozić is located in a small hilly town, in an area of central Istria full of villages, churches and ancient ruins. The olive grove extends over a surface of 5 hectares with 1,500 trees, inside a larger estate. In the last harvest 120 quintals of olives were produced, equal to a yield of 14 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil. There are two very good Extra Virgin selections, Crnica and Grozić - Istarska Bjelica, chosen by our panel.
It is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with light green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, endowed with vegetal hints of artichoke and chicory, lettuce and celery, together with aromatic notes of mint and rosemary. Its taste is robust and elegant, with a flavour of cinnamon, black pepper and a sharp almond finish. Bitterness is powerful and pungency is distinct and well balanced.
