Description
The Kadum family winery, located in the village of Bujići near Poreč, proudly continues a rich family tradition dating back to 1882. That year, Ivan Radolović - Mateus, who owned more than 60 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, was one of the most prominent landowners in the Poreč district. Following his death, a series of unfortunate circumstances led to the estate being divided among his heirs, who continued cultivating vines and producing wine primarily for their own needs. Yet the family's winemaking story did not end there.
More than a century later, Darko Kadum, whose mother Nela is Ivan Radolović's great-granddaughter and heir to part of the family estate, decided to revive his great-grandfather's vision. Together with his wife Luana, he began restoring the family property in 2012 by planting their first olive grove and two hectares of vineyards on the deep Istrian red soil of Bujići.
In 2019, their son Ivan joined the family business, ushering in a new chapter in the winery's development. Since then, the family has continued to expand the estate, establish new vineyards and further enhance production. Today, the Kadum family cultivates six hectares of vineyards and two hectares of olive groves. Their vineyards are planted with Malvazija istarska, Refosco, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery produces around ten wine labels, and its wines have earned numerous awards and accolades in Croatia and abroad.
