Radovan

Višnjan-Visignano

The Radovan family winery is from the village of the same name, located halfway between Višnjan and Baderna. Almost every family in this village has been engaged in viticulture for centuries, including that of Franko Radovan. In the early 1990s, he took over the business from his father Anđelo, and has recently introduced his son Antonio into the business. In addition to the male part of the family, Franko's wife Danijela and daughter Anna are also involved in the winemaking business. The vineyards, where they grow six varieties of grapes in a half-and-half ratio, are located on deep red soil to the west of the village. Among the white varieties are the Istrian malvazija, the chardonnay and the sauvignon, while the reds include merlot, cabernet sauvignon and refošk. Radovan wines are present on the market with a dozen wine labels, and from the very beginning they have been equally recognized for their fresh white and aged red wines, for which they have won a number of awards at both domestic and foreign competitions. The last two labels placed on the market are aged wines from the Capeletto edition. Numerous visitors will be warmly welcomed in the renovated winery, which represents a combination of tradition and modernity.
