Vodnjan-Dignano
Vodnjan Medea is a relatively young Istrian winery, founded on the tradition of the agricultural combine Agroprodukt, which has been successfully producing top quality wines and olive oils for over fifty years. After privatisation and restructuring, two brands were created: Medea wines and Vodnjan oil mill. Medea's vineyards cover about sixty hectares, and the largest part is located in Ševe. Two grand cru locations are especially worth mentioning: Montiron for Istrian malvasia and the southernmost Istrian vineyard, Punta Greca for merlot. Medea wines are divided into four qualitative categories. The litre wine line for wide use is called Vina Vodnjan. The largest line consists of Vina Medea, which contains seven labels of fresh wines obtained from the autochthonous varieties of malvasia, refošk and teran, as well as international varieties chardonnay, merlot and cabernet sauvignon. The pride of the winery is represented by two single vineyard labels: Montiron Istrian malvasia and Punta Greca merlot.
