Rovinj Named Destination of the Year and Champion of Croatian Tourism

 - Award for excellence in tourism, professionalism, quality, and innovation -

The city of Rovinj-Rovigno has once again affirmed its excellence, receiving the prestigious “Tourist Destination of the Year – Champion of Croatian Tourism” award at the Annual Croatian Tourism Awards.

These awards, recognizing the very best in Croatian tourism, are presented by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Croatian National Tourist Board, and the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, with winners announced at a grand ceremony during the Croatian Tourism Days.

This year’s largest annual gathering of tourism professionals in Croatia took place on 20–21 November in Dubrovnik. In front of over 1,300 participants, Rovinj was officially named Tourist Destination of the Year, earning the title of the new champion of Croatian tourism!

The award was accepted on behalf of the city by Mayor Emil Nimčević, who highlighted: "This is a tremendous recognition, not for high tourist numbers or record overnight stays, but because it shows that we are developing tourism the right way. The days of competing by numbers are behind us; today, excellence in tourism, professionalism, quality, and innovation are what count."

Furthermore, he added: "This honour belongs to the entire community - for everything we have achieved together over the years! My thanks go to all tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, cultural institutions, sports associations, municipal services, volunteers, and the many citizens whose work and daily contributions make Rovinj one of Croatia’s most desirable destinations."

With this achievement, Rovinj has once again affirmed its uniqueness, quality, and unwavering commitment to creating an outstanding tourism experience for both domestic and international visitors.

Congratulations!
