Fužijada

Some flavours tell stories, and one of them leads to Kanfanar, home to Istria’s most beloved pasta – fuži. According to local tradition, at the beginning of the last century, nona Luca accidentally created what would become an indispensable symbol of local gastronomy. Wanting to surprise a dear guest with a special dish, she was preparing pasutice, a traditional Istrian pasta, when she shaped the dough into something entirely different.

And so fuži were born, winning the hearts of generations and becoming an essential part of every Istrian celebration. Particularly proud of this culinary heritage, the people of Kanfanar have dedicated an entire event to their beloved pasta, bringing together a host of activities for children and adults alike - and, of course, plenty of delicious fuži!

Discover the story of fuži where it all began, through workshops and fun activities for children, culinary experiences, tastings and convivial gatherings centred around authentic local flavours. Fužijada in Kanfanar brings together the aromas of home cooking, a lively atmosphere and irresistible fuži, prepared in countless delicious ways.
