Description in the Flos Olei guide
Present again in our Guide with a result showing its growth, Monte Rosso was founded in 2006 by Davor Dubokovič in the favourable district of Savudrija. The large estate covers 65 hectares, 40 of which are destined to the specialized olive grove with 14,000, not entirely productive, trees. In the last harvest 1,000 quintals of olives were produced, equal to a yield of 120 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil.
We recommend the selection proposed to our panel, the very good Extra Virgin Monte Rosso Grand Selection, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with slight green hues. Its aroma is definite and rotund, rich in vegetal hints of artichoke and wild chicory, together with fresh fragrant notes of mint, sage and rosemary. Its taste is exuberant and robust, with a flavour of lettuce and a final note of cinnamon, black pepper and almond. Bitterness is powerful and pungency is distinct and well balanced.
